My life completely changed when my son, McKinley, was born.

He is definitely a wild man! He keeps us on our toes, provides us with many frustrating moments, and many more joyous moments. He makes us laugh and makes us proud.

I forgot to take his picture today. After school, was a flurry of dinner, homework, and a trip to Target. Apparently his birthday money was burning a hole in his pocket and we just HAD to check out the toy section! lol But this picture is from two years ago and one of my favorites of him.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILD BOY! I love you!

We were featured in a magazine!

I forget to tell everyone this and was reminded by my friend, Molly's, blog.

Recently, Evie modeled several sets from MollyODesigns 2008 fall line. Molly was so excited to get the call that she was going to be featured in BLVDS Las Vegas. BLVDS is a trendy magazine for the local Las Vegas area. She was asked to submit various pictures of her fall boutique designs and one picture she submitted of Evie received a whole page to itself!

Here is the picture:

This adorable dress & hat is from the Country Cute line.

My friend Kristen's 6 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. It has been life-changing for her and her family. Kailyn is a trooper and even tests her own blood sugar levels and adminsters her own insulin shots (with supervision).

On September 21st, Kristen will be walking for a diabetes cure.

Please CLICK HERE to donate and read more about Kailyn's struggle with diabetes and how we can all help towards a cure for this disease.

I Just Got A Card....

Pin It From Evie.

I open it and it is all scribbles...of course. lol

"read it, Mommy"

Me: "Why don't you read it to me, Evie?"

"Thank you for cooking lunch....Uh...I mean dinner...of all your life."

LOL!

Someone appreciates me, a little, sometimes.

Musings...

Pin It Losing weight is hard.

God REALLY is good.

Wii Fit - If you don't have one...it's worth $90 to watch your husband do the hula hoop & step aerobics! lol

I love youtube.com

A little over 100 days before Disney!

What's for lunch?

Pray for my friend Jenni, her mom passed away today. She is young, her mom is young, and Jenni has two small children.

Cancer stinks.

Finally, after having an idea for a Christmas design, I am stumped on how to execute it? Should I make a skirt, a dress? It's driving me nuts!

My idea was a Christmas Angel set, with 3-d appliqued wings similar to my tinkerbell shirt from Spring 2008. 6 yards of white chenille and gorgeous blue corduroy later...I am at a complete standstill!

Eskimo Kisses

Not much time today! But I wanted to pop in and tell you that I listed our Eskimo Kisses set last night. I love how this one turned out! Especially because Evie LOVES to give eskimo kisses right now, it totally fits her! lol

The Japanese import fabric is adorable and was easy inspiration for a custom boutique set!

It's hard to type with plastic bracelets and plastic rings on, courtesy of Evie and her new dress-up trunk! lol Oh and in case you were wondering, McKinley is still doing great at his new school. He lost one "stick" today, but I expected that as he has had a cold and the cold medicine always makes him a little wild.

Special Honors for Tattered Tulips!

Pin It This week our Pumpkin Patch hand crocheted sweater and appliqued skirt was picked as a favorite item of the week on Boutique Buyers Blog. Which is especially exciting, because I love this blog! If you have never taken a peek...be sure to stop over and check it out! It's a great blog ran by a team of regular custom boutique buyers. They find you to the cutest listings on Ebay & Etsy. They also link buyers & designers with their ask the designer/aske the buyer series, which I love!

We were also featured on Kiddlins!

Here is a sneak peak of a fun set that we will be listing later in the week with the Cats VS. Dogs BijouCo Ebay launch. We started with an adorable Japenese Eskimo fabric...then made appliqed jeans, pinafore jumper dress, appliqued tee, and removeable fur cuffs!

First Day of School!

I have so been looking forward to the first day of school! lol Summer boredom had completely set in here. A worn out mommy had led to too many hours of Spongebob, which had opened the door for lots of sibling bickering!

However, when the day finally arrived...I cried, as usual on the first day of school. Par for the course with me. I tell my husband, he is driving me crazy, but I will miss him! McKinley did great and seems to be adjusting wonderfully to his new school. Then Thursday came and it was time for Evie's first day of pre-school. Thank goodness Todd was able to take the day off so I did not have much time to dwell on it. She also did great and we went out for breakfast while she was there! lol

Here are a few pictures of my babies, who are not really babies at all anymore.

Pumpkins Everywhere!

Ok, Ok....I know I already said how much I love fall yesterday, but I am going to say it again today! lol

Every year, we spend October weekends at the pumpkin patch, apple orchard, or walking around Brown County, Indiana. I especially love pumpkins and the colors of fall. Brown, deep oranges, yellows, and reds...so I created these two outfits. The hand-crocheted sweater, made by my mom, is so soft that Evie never wants to take it off. Due to the time involved in recreating the sweater, we will only be listing it once.

I love fall clothes!

Pin It I love fall clothes, plain & simple. Boots, sweaters, tights, hats, knee high socks...I just love it all! It might be because Fall is my favorite time of year, I love the way the air smells, going to the pumpkin patch, and visiting the apple orchard. lol This year Gap has a line that is right up my alley, if they made it in women's sizes I would buy every piece. I will settle with dressing Evie up, look at how yummy this stuff is!

Yesterday, I listed a new Nesting Doll custom design. Our Nesting Doll set from Fall 2007 was a favorite and I decided we needed a new one for this year! The four piece set includes the dress, appliqued jeans, peasant top, and sash. Mix & match to create several different outfits!

TAKE A PEEK!

Speaking of Fall clothing...stay tuned tomorrow for a gorgeous crocheted sweater and appliqued skirt that features pumpkins galore! AND stay tuned for pictures from our first day of school!

Happy Birthday Evie!

Oh my, where does the time go? I can't believe that today is Evie's fourth birthday! For some reason, four is feeling especially sad to me. lol It means she is really and truly not a baby, not even a toddler, anymore. It also brings back so many memories of when we brought her home from the hospital, such a sweet baby. And all that hair!

To make matters worse, she will start preschool in a little over a week!

So today, we got all dressed up to parade around Walmart this afternoon. Now my little peanut is resting up so we can all go The Cheescake Factory tonight!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SWEET EVELYN, I love you!

Taking Pictures...

To me, one of the most interesting and challenging parts of selling our designs on Ebay is taking photographs. Since I started selling custom boutique designs on ebay I have upgraded my camera two times! LOL Right now I have a Canon Rebel XTi and I am slowly starting to understand how to use it, although I still have a long long way to go! There is so much to learn. I am proud to say that my last few photoshoots have been shot completely on manual mode.

Photoshoots are usually very fun for me and Evie, we search out interesting and unique spots all over our area to take pictures. McKinley sometimes tags along and he is always great at helping me get Evie to smile!

Our most recent photoshoot, for our fall set that we will be listing on Tuesday, was taken at a place that we call "the secret spot"! LOL I love how the path winds into the woods behind Evie. I also love the look on her face...she is smiling at her big brothers antics. I love how good of friends they are!

This set turned really cute, sweet and simple for autumn. The houndtooth jumper and brown gauchos are the softest pinwhale corduroy fabric. I chose to make the shirt with short sleeves, as crisp mornings quickly turn to warm afternoons during our Indiana fall season. However the winning bidder can choose to have long sleeves.
