Wasn't I just wondering how I would make it through summer vacation? Seems like it was only yesterday and yet our summer is almost over. I have to admit, I have really enjoyed having McKinley at home with us and I will miss him when he goes back to school. He is a big first grader this year! Evie will also be going to preschool, although she will have to wear uniforms...so no back to school custom on the first day for us. :(
In an effort to squeeze every drop of fun out of summer that we possibly can, Todd and I are going to take the kids to Indiana Dunes next week. I am really looking forward to the trip! Doesn't hurt that there is an amazing outlet mall right nearby! lol
Well, the kids and I are off to Trader Joes. (my favorite grocery store)

Crisp Summer Apple

I loved this picture so much, I had to share it with you!
Yesterday, Evie and I went out for a photo shoot. I was inspired to create a set by an adorable Japanese fabric that features pandas and apples. What a fun twist for a Back To School custom boutique design! Well we had to take an apple for our photo shoot, of course!!
During the entire shoot Evie kept asking when she could eat the apple! LOL This picture captured her first juicy bite into the apple and I thought it screamed summer!
I will post more pictures of the panda set a little later. ;)

Make A Wish...

Tattered Tulips was recently asked to guest launch with Vendemia. The theme is "Once Upon a Time" and it just happened that we were already in the process is working on a Fairy Princess design titled, "Make a Wish".
The set is a 3 piece outfit, that will transition perfectly from Summer to Fall. There are tons of girly details and colors! We finished off the euro jumper dress with euro ruffles, ric rac, and an adorable fairy princess applique on the pocket.

Chasing Butterflies...

Yesterday, my aunt and I took our 4 kids to Conner Prairie. Conner Prairie is a wonderful place, that showcases the history of Indiana. The idealic setting is complete with old homes, animals, rustic fences, and lush fields.
It is also the perfect place to chase butterflies.
So, as I sat there on the porch of an almost 200 year old home, and watched the 2 girls laughing as they ran around chasing the butterflies...I just knew it was one of those moments in life that you never want to forget. There is just nothing like the giggles of pure joy from little children!

On July 17th, BijouCo will be having a launch called School Pictures. EACH and every listing will include an artist rendering of your child in their custom creation, a $30 retail value! It is a such a special and unique way to remember their childhood. It's a school picture, with a twist!
My set is called Friends Around the World, and features smocking of seven friends on the bodice. The appliqued jeans are adorable when worn with the dress or by themselves! The set reminds me of the beginning of the school year...a time for making new friends and reconnecting with old friends.
Just today, I received an email from the artist...I can't show you that just yet, but you won't want to miss this launch!!
