The Blind Side

Pin It Todd and I rented this movie the other night, I am sure many of you have already seen it...I loved it! Such a sweet and inspiring story, made even better because it is true.

Really makes me think of what ways can I help someone else and get my kids involved in helping others as well.

Mad Tea Party

Pin It I have been working with a customer on this custom design...I am so happy to be all finished and just love the way it turned out!

Stay tuned because next week DillyDally is going to say "Welcome to the Sunshine State"!

I will be listing this sweet Alice in Wonderland set...here is a sneak peek at the tea party!

Hamburgers

Pin It I don't make them often.

However, there is something about firing up the grill for the first time of the season that feels great!

Tonight I added an egg, a little garlic, onion, salt, pepper, greek seasoning, and feta cheese to our burgers and grilled those puppies! Topped them with a little more feta crumbles and a few green olives. Delish!

Fresh corn on the cob would have been perfect...but soon enough it will be time for that too.

I plan to fully cherish every second of warm weather. I LOVE Autumn...adore it...really REALLY like it! But I am a little ashamed to admit that Spring is catching up to Autumn as my favorite season. The air smells good! The trees are budding and the world is coming alive again...neighbors are emerging from their houses...it's good.

A Couch

Sorry, but right now this is the biggest thing going in my life. We finally picked out a couch!

Pathetic. I know.

But it is what it is, as they say!

Anyway, it's a soft brown...and hopefully DURABLE leather...and I am really excited about it.

Also, I cannot wait to show you pictures of the new island that Todd made for my kitchen! Yes. I said Todd MADE me an island! I am so proud of him!

This weekend, I am soooo happy to be heading away for a girls weekend with my friend Danielle! While there we are going to be ironing out the details on a new sewing business venture. Hopefully, I will have more news on Monday...stay tuned!

Oh and I forgot to tell you about church this week. I found it really encouraging and straight to the point!

The verse was:

8Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

9For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

I have been reminding myself everday, that I am complete in him! Not complete in my house, not complete in my business, not complete in my possesions, not complete in my government...but COMPLETE IN HIM! Oh how liberating!

Ikea

Pin It Thanks to my sweet sisters, who watched the kids yesterday, Todd and I went to Ikea! Let me tell you, you can shop (and spend) alot more in that store when you are not breaking up fights, constantly telling kids to stop running, etc...

We joked that it cost us $100 an hour to be in the store and I won't tell you how many hours we were there! lol

We did get a new chair for the living room...$199, not a bad deal at all! We also got new lighting for the kitchen, which I am really excited about...now just have to talk someone who knows something about electricity to put them up for me. It was a hard choice, we are limited in where we can put lights on our kitchen ceiling. I hope I chose well! You know how sometimes you LOVE something in the store and just not so much once you get it home? I don't want that to happen with the new lights!

Todd wanted a one of these type chairs! I have to agree with him, they are super comfy and we termed them "bouncy chairs for adults". lol The only thing that would make them complete is a bar that comes over...only instead of brightly colors toys, like a baby bouncy chair...a small tv would work nicely! hee hee

But alas, the style just does NOT suite our house at all, so we passed...for now.

Toy Shelving

Toys.

Why are they so hard to organize and store? The little parts...the parts that are too big for a tote or bin...

But this little cube thingy shelving system we got this weekend might be the most organized I will ever be able to get the toys! lol So far, I love it!

Our old toy shelves have been promoted, or maybe demoted, to my fabric storage shelves. Pictures of that will come later, when I get my sewing area completely finished!

So for now, here are the new toy shelves...please ignore the area of the wall that needs repainted...that area USED to be hidden by the old shelfs and armoire. My husband, the painter, clearly hurries the free paint jobs. Gotta love him though!!

And...sigh...I can't even really complain about the toys all that much because I know all too soon they will be replaced by cell phones and Ipods.
